Early Recruitment

“I like fire fighters. They’re my friends,” she said.

The children at The Childrens Center had the opportunity to learn about the people in their neighborhood.

We arrived at Luis’ therapy session and found the paramedics parked under the drop-off of the Childrens center in Titusville,Florida. Luis watched the children taking turns to climb into the cab and see all the special buttons and equipment the firemen have inside the truck.

The excitement is bigger than their bodies can contain; jumping and wiggling with delight. As soon as the children are ready, they go to the truck.

My eldest son had that same “can’t-contain-myself” excitement when he was that age. For the longest time he told me how much he loves fire fighters and emergency forces. He told me at the age of six, he wanted to be a paramedic.

He is eighteen and full-out invested in software engineering and making robots. This is a far reach from paramedic, but empathy is there. I see it when he helps me with his little brother accomplish daily tasks with assistance.

The event is a wonderful way to plant a seed for the future. Children’s dreams push them to reach for the stars. When they keep reaching, they inspire us adults to grow their seed.

Growing, striving, nurturing our children and ourselves. All of us benefited from our community sharing time.
